1 W. Main St., New Bloomfield, PA

In 1898 the town of New Bloomfield, Pennsylvania erected a monument to pay tribute to the soldiers and sailors from Perry County that have served their country.  The monument stands in the center of a roundabout in the middle of the town.  This mural was part of an artist-in-residency project with students at West Perry Middle School in Perry County, Pennsylvania.  The image combines a photograph taken at the dedication ceremony for the monument as well as a photograph I took from roughly the same vantage point 120 years later.

This project was sponsored and funded by the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, and the Perry County Council for the Arts.
